Game of Thrones Episode Summaries
Welcome to King's Landing, the capital of Westeros and seat of the Iron Throne and royal family! If your name is Lannister, Stark, or – God's forbid – Targaryen, you might want to keep that information to yourself. Regardless, watch your back. As Her Grace, Cersei of House Lannister, First of Her Name, Queen of the Andals and the First Men, Protector of the Seven Kingdoms said to Eddard Stark, "When you play the game of thrones you either win or you die."
It has won 38 Primetime Emmy Awards, more than any other Primetime Scripted Series in history. Game of Thrones (GoT) and its stellar cast have delighted HBO viewers since it premiered on April 17th, 2011. Even George R.R. Martin could not have foreseen the success of this American fantasy series based on his book A Song of Fire and Ice. It reached its record high of 10.11 million viewers. This was possible with the premiere of GoT in its 7th season. The 7th season of Game of Thrones began July 16th, 2017.

This drama fictional television series is set in the fictional countries of Westeros and Essos. Game of Thrones covers three main storylines and dozens of intricate characters. You will hate to love it and love to hate it. It's criticized for its violence, nudity, and sexual scenes. It takes on the pain and triumph of its myriad characters with a visceral vengeance.

Watch the fate of the members of House Stark, House Baratheon, and House Lannister as they are caught up in the embroiling conflict across all of Westeros.
At the same time, see what becomes of the last, legitimate surviving members of House Targaryen struggle to leave their exile and hiding in Essos and cross the Narrow Sea and plot to take back their father's throne in King's Landing. What fate awaits orphans Daenerys Stormborn and her brother Viserys as they try to reach Westeros and take back their home? Check out Game of Thrones Episodes and find out.
Then there is The Brotherhood and The Wall. All that stands between the centuries old threats of the fierce people and creatures of legend that supposedly lie far north of Westeros. Accepting all bastards including those named Snow, Pyke, Hill, Sand, Water, and any of the other bastards' names for the Great Houses of Westeros. What new threat could they face? As Lord Commander of the Night's Watch, Jeor Mormont said, "When dead men and worse come hunting for us in the night, you think it matters who sits on the Iron Throne?" Find out about each Game of Thrones episode for the answers.
And what about those Great Houses of the Seven Kingdoms? According to Lady Brienne of the House Tarth, "The good lords are dead and the rest are monsters." So, which House ends up dead and which House is made up of monsters? You'll have to read through the Game of Thrones episodes to find out.
House Lannister of Casterly Rock rules The Westerlands and steps forward as the dominant house even though it only has a few remaining members as the Game begins and an ever dwindling total as the season's progress. Fans love watching Tyrion Lannister go from the vile, drunken, whoremongering, waste of a man known as The Imp to a respectable (kind of) and noble character for whom you cannot help but root. What about his older brother and sister, twins Jaime and Cersei Lannister? How will the fate of this incestuous sibling duo evolve? You guessed it, check out each Game of Thrones episode to find out.
House Stark rules in The North kingdom with their ancestral home at Winterfell. This truly noble family is led by Lord Eddard Stark (Ned) and his loyal wife Lady Catelyn of the House Tully. What will become of them and their children: Robb, Sansa, Arya, Bran, and Rickon? How about Ned's bastard son Jon Snow, will he join The Night's Watch at Castle Black?
House Targaryen, disposed of when Jaime Lannister broke his oath and drove his sword into the back of Aerys of House Targaryen, the Second of His Name, King of the Andals and the First Men, Lord of the Seven Kingdoms and Protector of the Realm. His wife, newly pregnant with their second child was driven into exile only to die in childbirth. How will his orphaned children fare in exile among strangers? What will become of the royal house that once rode dragons to claim the monarchy of Westeros and forge the Iron Throne itself?
House Tully of Riverrun, from whence Lady Stark came, rules The Riverlands. The House Arryn of the Eyrie rulers of The Vale is staunch allies of House Tully. House Stark as their Lady is her sister to Lady Catelyn Stark and daughter of Lord Tully.
House Baratheon of Storm's End conquered The Stormlands when they wrested the throne from House Targaryen. As the Game begins, Lord Robert Baratheon and his wife Lady Cersei of House Lannister sit upon the Iron Throne. What becomes of them and "their" oddly fair-haired children?
House Martell of Sunspear rule in Dorne in the southernmost region of Westeros. House Tyrell of Highgarden rules The Reach. Will these often discounted families step up and join the Game of Thrones and the struggle for power?
Brooding just outside of Westeros and its Seven Kingdoms lies The Iron Islands, or Iron Isles as the people there call them, House Greyjoy of Pyke rules here, nearly forgotten after a failed attempt to aid House Targaryen against Robert's Rebellion. Will they stay exiled in their own lands floating in the Sunset Sea?
As you can see, there's plenty going on in the Game of Thrones episodes. There are despicable villains to root against. There is lovable heroes for whom you can root for. There's joy and sadness, anger and love, and a whole bunch of twisted surprises that will leave you glued to your screen.
